Use	for pharmaceutical intermediates. For organic synthesis. 2-aminothiazole is mainly used for the synthesis of Nitrosulfathiazole, Sulfathiazole, Sulfasuxidinum, maleamidothiazole, phthalyl sulfathiazole, creatole, Salazosulfathiazole for use in ultrasound-mediated mild Ulmann coupling reaction with 2-chlorobenzoic acid , dye intermediate
production method	by thiourea with chloroacetaldehyde (or ethanol and chlorine, or alpha, beta dichloroethyl ether) obtained by cyclization. The reactor was charged with hot water, thiourea and α,β-dichloroethyl ether. Reflux for 2H with stirring. After cooling, sodium hydroxide solution was added through a dropping funnel to make the solution alkaline, and 2-aminothiazole crystals were precipitated. Ether was then added to dissolve it. The ether layer was separated, washed with water, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and ether was distilled off to give a crude product. Recrystallization from ethanol yielded yellow crystals. The yield was 80%, melting point 90 °c.
